Tassie Winner for Stryker

Stryker featured with a smart winner at Launceston in Tasmania on Wednesday evening with the Brendan McShane trained three year-old Union Boss scoring in the first race on the program.

 

A $28,000 Inglis Great Southern Weanling Sale purchase for his trainer from the Three Bridges draft, Union Boss broke his maiden by half a neck over 1420 metres at his third run back from a spell.

Bred by Three Bridges, Union Boss is the fifth winner from Group III winner Gentle Call, who was covered last spring by Unencumbered.

Union Boss is one of a flurry of recent winners for Stryker joining New Zealand Derby contender Rangipo as well as Stryking Stunnah, Seven Ten Split, Roseberry Street, Margiel Stryker and Cyclone Stryker, not to mention promising two year-old filly Miss Nymeria, a fine third in the Group II MRC Blue Diamond Prelude.
