Moonee Valley Success for Stryker
Promising young Fastnet Rock sire Stryker was in the winner’s list at Moonee Valley on Friday night with the talented Chris Waller trained filly Labdien.
A two time winner previously in Sydney at Warwick Farm, Labdien did best in a thrilling finish to win the Benchmark 70 event for fillies over 1200 metres by half a head.
A super consistent filly that has collected a prizemoney cheque at each of her five runs this preparation, Labdien has the overall record of three wins from seven starts with prizemoney topping $84,000.
Labdien was a $21,000 Magic Millions Weanling Sale purchase from the Widden Stud draft for long time stable Debbie Kepitis (Ingham), who part-owned and still supports her sire Stryker, the foundation sire for Victorian nursery Three Bridges Thoroughbreds.
She is the second winner for stakes-placed Fasliyev (IRE) mare Bold Moment, a daughter of Group II winner Flushed.
Labdien was the second winner on the day for Stryker, who scored earlier at Werribee with another three year-old filly in She’ll Strykeya. Stryker has eight entries for the upcoming Inglis Premier Yearling Sale. Click here to see them.
