South African Winner Sold by Three Bridges
Champion trainer Mike de Kock and Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum combined to win at Greyville in South Africa on Sunday with well-bred three year-old Encosta de Lago filly Lady Lago, who scored over a mile by a neck at her third start.
Lady Lago was a $55,000 Inglis Premier purchase for Form Bloodstock from the draft of Three Bridges Thoroughbreds and is a full sister to Group III winner Decircles and sibling to stakes-placed King Raedwald, Raffles Knight and Hybrid.
Lady Lago will be a valuable broodmare prospect for Sheikh bin Khalifa’s breeding operation as she comes from the family of Group I champions Elvstroem, Haradasun, Starspangledbanner and current Group winning Galileo three year-old Highland Reel.
