Impressive Debut Win for Stryker Juvenile
A $165,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Three Bridges Thoroughbreds draft for McEvoy Mitchell Racing, Mr Markou was the most expensive yearling from the second crop of Stryker and made a winning debut at Morphettville on Saturday.
Trained by Ton McEvoy, Mr Markou was well educated with a couple of trials under his belt and ran a lovely race to cruise home from off the pace and win the 1000 metre scamper by a length and three-quarters.
Mr Markou is the first foal of Live in Black, a half-sister to stakes-winning sprinters Live in Vain and Snort.
Live in Black has a Stryker yearling filly to follow and has foaled this spring producing a lovely colt by Magic Millions winner Unencumbered.
