Three Bridges Cheer South African Group Two Winner
Australian bred three year-old New Predator scored his first Black Type success when taking out the Group II Drill Hall Stakes at Greyville in South Africa on Friday providing a great result for Three Bridges Thoroughbreds, who now own his dam and will sell his half-sister at the MM National Weanling Sale.
Trained by Johan Janse van Vuuren, the New Approach (IRE) colt had been Group placed previously and landed the 1600 metre feature by half a length taking his overall record to three wins from nine starts.
He passed in at the 2013 Magic Millions National Weanling Sale and was sent to South Africa later that year and is the first stakes-winner for Head Over Heels, a half-sister by Fastnet Rock to stakes-winner Presently.
Head Over Heels was purchased at the 2015 Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale by Paul Willetts Bloodstock on behalf of Three Bridges for $52,500.
She has since produced a filly by Fighting Sun and is due to foal this spring to Three Bridges young sire Unencumbered.
The Fighting Sun filly will be offered in a cracking draft of weanlings from Three Bridges at the 2016 Magic Millions National Weanling Sale as Lot 320.
