Smart Win for Epic Moment
Bred and sold by Three Bridges, royally bred two year-old Snitzel colt Epic Moment was an impressive winner at Cranbourne on Friday.
The Mick Price trained Epic Moment was his own worst enemy when making his debut in a Listed race at Caulfield last month to finish unplaced, but did everything right at his second attempt.
He jumped fast from gate two leading throughout to win the 1000 metre scamper by two and a half lengths as favourite.
A $675,000 Magic Millions purchase for Peter Moody from the Three Bridges Thoroughbreds draft, Epic Moment runs for a syndicate that includes Sun Stud in whose colours he runs and also Neil Werrett, who was in the ownership of Black Caviar.
Bred in partnership by Three Bridges, Epic Moment is the fourth winner from stakes-placed Desert Sun (GB) mare Song of the Sun, a three-quarter sister to champion broodmare Helsinge, the dam of Black Caviar and All Too Hard.
Song of the Sun has a weanling filly by Three Bridges exciting young sire Unencumbered and was covered by him again last year.
