Stryker Derby Winner Honoured

The final award presented at the 2016 TBA National Breeding Awards in the Hunter Valley on Saturday was the Aushorse Marketing Breeder of the best Australian-bred Exported Racehorse, which went to John and Margaret Thompson, breeders of multiple Group winner Rangipo (AUS).

 

Presented by TBA Vice President, Derek Field,to Peter Liston from Three Bridges Thoroughbreds, award-winner Rangipo recorded wins at Group level on four separate occasions throughout the season, highlighted by his thrilling victory in the Group I New Zealand Derby back in March.

The win was his seventh success of his three-year-old campaign, which also featured wins in the Group II Great Northern, Waikato and Avondale Guineas.

Rangipo is by Three Bridges’ resident stallion Stryker, out of the New Zealand-bred mare Holloway Castle (NZ).

Holloway Castle resides at Three Bridges and Peter Liston was delighted to accept the award on behalf of the Thompson’s.
