Dreams Coming True

A homebred for Teeley Assets, promising Fastnet Rock gelding Kingdom of Dreams completed a winning hat-trick when saluting at Moonee Valley last Saturday, his success cheered by the team at Three Bridges Thoroughbreds, who now own his dam Unusual Choice.  Prepared by Mark Kavanagh, Kingdom of Dreams had won at Cranbourne and Bendigo at his first two runs back from spell and handled the step up to Saturday class with ease to power clear and win over 1600 metres by a length.

A horse with a history of getting hot and worked up pre-race, the four year-old is beginning to conquer his nerves as his recent good form would suggest and a stakes race over the summer may well be within his scope.

"He’s slowly coming right this preparation. He’s still getting hot, but he’s racing very, very well,” said Kavanagh.

"It’s in the mounting yard and going to the gates that the problem surfaces, but I think he’s a really good horse.”

A winner of six of his 13 starts, Kingdom of Dreams is one of two winners from Redoute’s Choice mare Unusual Choice, a grand-daughter of stakes-winner Winged Prayer from the family of Champion Two and Three Year Old Tierce.

Offered as part of the Teeley Assets Dispersal at Magic Millions earlier this year, Unusual Choice was snapped up by Three Bridges for $90,000 on the advice of renowned bloodstock agent Paul Willetts.

In foal to Fastnet Rock at the time, she has since produced this lovely colt and is now safely in foal to our exciting young stallion Unencumbered.

This time last year, Unencumbered was stamping himself as the best two year old in the country with a string of brilliant wins that led him to victory in the $2million Magic Millions 2YO Classic.

12 months on and he’s let down into a magnificent individual that has relaxed and thrived during his first year at stud covering some 120 mares, 30 of which are stakes-winners or stakes producers.

Few colts have won the Magic Millions 2YO Classic and those that have include Group I producing sires Snippets, General Nediym, Testa Rossa, Brave Warrior and Bradbury’s Luck, so Unencumbered finds himself in exalted company.

The terrific support Unencumbered has received from breeders right around Australia has been nothing short of outstanding, so we can’t wait to see his first foals next year.
